Local “Top Dogs” were awarded the first, second, and third 2024 Montgomery County Dog Licenses in a ceremony hosted by Montgomery County Auditor Karl Keith. Through a partnership with Montgomery County, SICSA auctioned rights to the licenses, raising funds for the shelter. The number three dog license was awarded to Dickens, an adorable yorkie who goes everywhere with his mom, Sue Alexander, a SICSA volunteer of nearly 50 years. The second license was awarded to Cami, a wonderful 14 year old corgi belonging to Bob and Kim Group, two long-time, dedicated SICSA volunteers and supporters. The number one dog license was awarded to an wiggly, yellow lab named Manchu, who is well loved by his owners, Mark and Elaine Allison. Elaine served as a former member of SICSA’s Board of Directors.
SICSA is deeply grateful for the support of the Top Dog license recipients and the collaboration with Montgomery County that made this possible. The support from this event will allow SICSA to help pets find loving homes, just like those of the dogs honored today. The ceremony also brings light to the importance of licensing pets. Not only is licensing required by law, but it also acts as a great way to ensure you can be reunited with your dog if they become lost. If you have not yet purchased your Montgomery County Dog License, you can do so by visiting SICSA Pet Adoption and Wellness Center or the Montgomery County Auditor’s Office. You can also purchase your license online here.
