The Guardian Angel Fund makes miracles happen. Homeless animals with special needs are too often the ones left behind. The time, cost of care, and resources required can make it very difficult for most shelters to care for the ones who need it the most. SICSA's Guardian Angel Fund specifically helps adoptable animals become adoptable, with the generous help from people like you in our community. These animals are worthy of our help and love, and SICSA gives them another chance at finding a loving, forever home. Your gift provides care for the animals that need it the most.

The David Irwin Brown Humane Education Fund was created in loving memory of an adventurous, spirited and lively young man who had a great love for animals. By just 12 years old, David was a dedicated Boy Scout who had already spent more than 50 days camping in the wilderness. He had many friends and was a gentle, compassionate soul who was always willing to lend a hand to any creature in need.

To honor his legacy, David’s family created the Fund to provide SICSA with the opportunity to bring together, educate, inspire, and empower compassionate young people, and to provide an avenue for the community to perpetuate David’s kindness and generosity.

SICSA's Humane Education Program focuses on cultivating empathy, kindness, respect, and responsibility for our pets. Through interactive learning opportunities with animals and the people who care for them, children can gain a new interest and excitement for animal welfare.

Your car donation directly benefits SICSA’s mission and programs and is tax-deductible as permissible by law. Our program is open to trucks, motorcycles, snowmobiles, recreational vehicles and jet skis too. The vehicle does not need to be in good working order. SICSA will provide a free tow and help with the paperwork.

Many friends of the SICSA Pet Adoption Center who choose to make charitable contributions by bequest to the Center also ask about the possibility of entrusting their pet(s) to the care of SICSA after their death.

While SICSA’s first recommendation is to identify a trusted and willing friend or family member to care for your pet after your death, we recognize that this alternative is not always available. Click here to fill out our Pet Guardianship form.

SICSA Pet Adoption and Wellness Center is committed to supporting pets in our community and wants to help owners keep their pets whenever possible and appropriate. The Help Center offers a variety of programs and services to help keep families together; including temporary housing for pets displaced by emergencies, assistance with pet food and other supplies, animal wellness and medical care, pet spays and neuters, and behavior support. You can support our HelpCenter by fostering in our Safe Pets program or with your financial contribution.

Donations in support of our Community Veterinary Care program help bridge the access to a veterinary care gap. Your support helps us bring our veterinary services to targeted areas in and around the Dayton area to provide care for pets living in underserved areas. At these clinics, all the animals we see from eligible families receive a wellness visit with one of our licensed veterinarians, including a full examination, updating all core vaccines, and receiving flea preventatives and deworming treatments, all at no cost to families.
