Dr. Lloyd and Sinclair Student complete a nose to tail exam at Community Veterinary Care Clinic
SICSA’s staff and volunteers have been especially busy throughout the month of June. SICSA’s Veterinary Clinic maintained a full schedule of spay and neuter procedures, wellness appointments, and general animal care. Beyond this, the SICSA team held their largest Community Veterinary Care Clinic yet!
Through a MASH-style clinic at SICSA’s former location in Kettering, staff and volunteers including friends from Sinclair Community College provided care to the pets of families in need. Overall, 160 local dogs and cats received preventative medical care including nose to tail exams, vaccines, deworming, and flea treatments. All of this was done at little to no cost for the pet owners.
The following week, SICSA hosted a free microchipping event with special guest Home Again at their adoption and wellness center in Washington Township! Over the course of a few hours, the staff and volunteers were able to provide free microchips to 120 pets. The timing of the event was especially important given the upcoming Fourth of July holiday, during which there is typically an increased number of lost pets.
SICSA was elated to host these events for members of our community, and looks forward to continuing to provide care to those in need as the year continues.
