On Saturday February 11th, join us here at SICSA for Furry Speed Dating! Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, and with so many pets looking for loving homes, we have matchmaking on our minds! While we normally focus on long-term relationships between adopters and new pets, we’ve set up a fun event that even the commitment-shy can enjoy.
If you’re looking for real love with a new best friend, you can meet with our adoption counselors to meet our adoptable pets. Any pet that has been with us for more than 60 days will have their adoption fee waived! You can find a list of those pets here.
Not quite ready for something long-term, but interested in taking a furry friend home? You’ll head to our Humane Education Center to find a foster fling! Our 
Foster Coordinator and team of volunteers will be here to talk to you about what fostering entails, walk you through orientation, match you with a foster pet, gather their supplies, and send you home with your temporary best bud the same day. All you need to do before the event is fill out a Foster Volunteer Application here. Even if you don’t find a match at the event, we’ll keep you in our foster database to reach out when someone more suitable comes along!
Whether you’re ready to settle down with a pet of your own, or just looking for a four-legged friend to hang out with for a little while, Furry Speed Dating is for you! Sessions will begin at 12:00P.M. and continue throughout the day until 7:00P.M.. The number of both adoptable and foster pets available will be limited, so guests are encouraged to arrive at the beginning of the event to better their chance of taking home a pet the same day.
