SICSA Student Intern Program

The student intern application process is open from August 1, 2024 until August 30, 2024 at noon. All applications must be submitted in this time frame in order to be reviewed. No late applications will be considered.

SICSA Student Intern Program

The SICSA Student Intern Program is an opportunity for High School Students to volunteer at SICSA and gain experience working with an animal rescue organization. The program allows students to volunteer at SICSA working with the animals, helping with cleaning, and participating in SICSA events. Students can craft their own schedule allowing them to continue to participate in school activities and volunteer when they have time.

What do Student Interns do?

Student Interns volunteer at SICSA doing a variety of tasks to help the shelter like laundry, kennel cleaning, dog walking, cat enrichment and other activities. Volunteer schedules are set individually by each Student Intern according to their availability and the volunteer activity.

How can I apply to be a Student Intern at SICSA?

Students wishing to apply to be a part of the Student Intern Program must complete the application, student intern waiver, provide adult references, and go through the interview process. Submit your completed application and the student intern waiver to Leah O’Malley, Volunteer Services Manager, at lomalley@sicsa.org before August 30, 2024, at noon. Applications will not be accepted after the deadline date/time.
Students are responsible to meet all deadlines and respond to required email correspondence according to the established deadlines. Failure to meet requirements will result in elimination from consideration.
Selected students will be invited to attend orientation with parents/guardians and will receive comprehensive training before volunteering.
